Masters of Child Play Therapy, Bachelor of Education: Early Childhood

Harriet is a Play Therapist with over 10 years of experience in Early Childhood Education and a Masters in Child Play Therapy. She specialises in working with children aged 2–5 years, with a focus on supporting both the child and their parents to build strong foundations for emotional, social, and developmental wellbeing.

Harriet’s therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based play therapy principles, tailored to meet each child’s unique needs. She works to create a safe and supportive environment where children are able to process experiences, develop coping strategies, and build resilience through play.

In addition to direct work with children, Harriet places strong emphasis on parent involvement, recognising the essential role parents play in supporting a child’s progress at home and in everyday life. Her practice integrates her background in education with therapeutic expertise, ensuring that families feel both guided and empowered in their child’s journey.

About

Jodie

Jodie Cousins

Hi, I’m a qualified Play Therapist with a Bachelor of Psychology and a Master of Child Play Therapy. As a mum of four (all grown up now!) and a grandma to two with another on the way, I’ve spent decades learning about kids—not just through study but through life.

I’m passionate about supporting the whole child—their emotions, personality, and unique quirks—helping them grow into their best selves. Over the past 35 years, I’ve seen how much the world of children’s play has changed, and I use evidence-based play therapy to create a safe, fun space where kids can explore their feelings, build confidence, and overcome life’s challenges.

I believe every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported. My goal is to help children discover their strengths, embrace their uniqueness, and navigate their world with resilience. It’s an absolute privilege to be part of their journey, and I look forward to helping your child shine!
